A season of change

Michigan loses to Wisconsin, again. With the latest defeat, the Wolverines hopes of making the NCAA tournament are fading fast. I don't think any of us saw the struggles of this season coming. We all assumed the team that made the field of 64 last year would be at least as good as last year's team, if not better. But fate plays a funny game sometimes. We can just assume that because last year's Wolverines were a good team that this year's squad will be as good. Honestly, every year is a different year for a college basketball team. Replacing seniors and players who leave early combined with incoming freshmen and their learning curve with the players on the team, sometimes is a bit too much. You have different personalities who must get to know each other. You may have players in different positions than they're used to. The chemistry of a team can be very fragile.
So, as this season nears the end, we must remind ourselves: This season is no reflection of last year just as next season will be no relection of this one. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one but one thing will remain constant: There is always hope.
